Super Bowl XLII in Phoenix, AZ
The Phoenix community is proud to host 2008's Super Bowl between the New England Patriots and the New York Giants. On February 3, 2008 the top two teams in the NFL compete for number one. The University of Phoenix Stadium expanded it's capacity to 70,000 seats. It is the first stadium to have a retractable roof and a roll out grass field providing a new experience for the Super Bowl. The entire week surrounding the Super Bowl becomes an event of itself. With its mild climate and friendly people Phoenix is a great place to host the Super Bowl!
Golfing
Phoenix golf is truly something to rave about. There are hundreds of golf courses just waiting for you to enjoy in the warm desert sun. This is where some of the best around come to play. So set up a morning tee time. Throw on that spiffy golf ensemble. Bring you're a-game and be ready to drive one deep onto the green. On the other hand, if your game is far from par, there are plenty of generous courses so you can practice your swing. So if you hit 130 on the back nine, you'll still get a high five from your caddie, instead of a disappointed stare.
Water Sports
Four major lakes throughout the Phoenix area are a great way to beat the heat: Saguaro, Canyon, Bartlett and Pleasant. So when the desert sun leaves you hot and sweaty you'll have plenty of opportunities to cool down. Swim around a bit to loosen up. Also popular is tubing down Salt River. Or you can choose from some top notch water parks: Waterworld Safari, Sun Splash and Big Surf.
At the Dude Ranch
Part of the Southwestern experience is checking out a dude ranch. Horseback through the desert trails. Milk a happy moo cow. Hike and admire the majestic scenery. Lasso an unruly calf. Learn the rootin' tootin' moves of the Western sidestep. It's all here. When the evening rolls in, and a long day on the range has you feeling zonked, it's always great to kick back at the bar. Doff your cowboy hat, point and wink, order a frosty sarsaparilla and say much obliged. Now you're doing it dude ranch style.
